What we offer: Training

Training for life:Our puppies are at the center of family life in our home.  We have a strong focus on early training and interaction from birth.
Our puppies are handled from the day they are born and encouraged in age appropriate play and activities.  They are incredibly smart and absorb new material very quickly.  Once their mom has taught them the basics we take over.  We believe by teaching our puppies well and from a  young age, it will allow them to faster assimilate into their new families.  We hope you will be thrilled with the effort we put in to this because we work hard to be sure that every puppy gets off to the very best start they can. We expect all our families to continue training from the day they arrive and ongoing in their future.   Never miss an opportunity!!

Obedience, Crate and Toilet Training:  We use clicker training (Karen Pryor) as our base methodology.  We find that  this combined with food treats work best for us and is the most fun way for our puppies to learn basic obedience with voice commands.  We use clicks and treats for crate training as well.  Our puppies will be too young to be experts at toilet training when they arrive with their new families, but they will have some idea of what is expected when you tell them to "go potty."  They will be off to an excellent start.  With calm, caring and gentle persuasion they will be experts in no time.  Consistency is key!

Jill's thoughts on children training dogs: "Many obedience schools in the US will not allow children under the age of 11 as dog handlers and I understand their reasoning.  However, in a caring and compassionate environment children can successfully and safely handle Australian Labradoodles with their adult.  Our dogs are trained to respond to children as well as they do to adults.  Our children are taught the value of calm, assertive energy (thanks to Cesar Milan) when interacting with our dogs.  We have people commenting when we are out at how amazed they are that our dogs respond so diligently to the voice commands and hand signals of children.  We have children as young as 18 months old raise their arm for a "down" command - it's a beautiful sight!"

Travel Training:   We are very proud to own a family airplane and we use this in our travel preparations for our puppies when the weather cooperates.  Puppies traveling by plane will have a car ride to the local airport where they are exposed to the sight and sounds of an airport and have their first flight.  They are very lucky because this is as thorough as travel preparation gets.  Travel information and pricing is available in the puppy packet we will send you when you contact us.
